Jacoby Carrington, (lineman team manager) earned the bragging rights as the "Bucs Best Bowler." The following morning, the Bucs competed in 8 events which included: Bench Press, Nascar, Farmers' Walk, Tire Flip Relay, Obstacle Course, Truck Push, Standing Tire Pull, and the Harness Pull. When it was all said and done, the Bucs came away with the first place trophy, outscoring the other 9 teams in their division by 30 points. The team is coached by Coach Cauthern.

Hallmark, Anthony Ortiz, Patrick Colleps, Alfredo Velasquez, Arick Hartman, Eric Hart, Titus King, Daniel Chavez, Efrain Mora, Jose Anaya, Alejandro Sanchez, Tye Leblanc, Brock Levergne, Tanner Mazzola, Colby Trevino, and Jacoby Carrington.

Coach Cauthern: "The kids did a tremendous job.  They had fun and competed with every ounce of energy they had.  Several coaches from other schools commented on how hard our kids competed and got after it and how they behaved with class at all times.  I am very proud of everything they accomplished and especially the way they represented East Chambers ISD."

Coach Valastro:  "We received a ton of compliments from the other coaches, and I was extremely proud of the way our men competed. We are already looking forward to defending our title next year."

The annual sports banquet was held on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at the Winnie-Stowell Community Building. The keynote speaker was Coach James Gamble who delivered an inspiring message. Athletes were recognized for their participation in each sport. In addition, athletes were recognized for special merit and contributions.

Hallmark; Softball MVP - Keaton East; Softball Fighting Lady Buc - Jordyn Kurek; Softball New Comer of the Year - Courtney Joseph; Softball District Awards 1st Team All-District Infield - Tayler Kurek and Honorable Mention - Keaton East; Powerlifting Outstanding Lifter - Asia Coleman, Isaiah White, and Dylan Kramer; Girls Track 100% Award - Tayler Kurek, Charla Thomas, Sara Bauer, and Lindsey McDonald; Girls Track MVP - Lindsey McDonald; Boys Track High Point Award Winner - Jacoby Carrington; Tennis Boys MVP - Sam Evans; Tennis Girls MVP - Montana Foy; Tennis Most Improved Player - Shantrey Glenn.

The District Track Meet was held at Kountze High School on April 4 and 8, 2008.  The East Chambers varsity girls track team placed third with 145 points. The Varsity track participants that placed 1st through 3rd will advance to the Regional Track Meet in Palestine on April 25-26th.

The East Chambers Junior Varsity Track Team placed third at the District Track Meet with 64 points.  The results are:  Shot Put: Coby Trevino – 5th; 3200 m: Lorenzo Netro – 1st , Alvaro Camacho – 2nd,  Agustin Palomares – 3rd; 100 m: Andrew Edgerly – 4th, Mitchell Tully – 5th; 200 m: Andrew Edgerly – 2nd; 1600 m: Alvaro Camacho – 1st, Agustin Palomares – 2nd, Lorenzo Netro – 3rd.
